  • What you needServer URL and stream key from the Studio section of VK Video Live.
  • Platform ruleUse a permanent key so you don’t update it for every broadcast.

VK Play Live is now VK Video Live

In November 2024, VK renamed VK Play Live to VK Video Live, moved community live streams there, and switched sign-in to VK ID. If an older guide sends you to VK Play Live, the same settings now live in VK Video Live. VK also announced support for streams up to 4K and that stream recordings are kept.

Where to find your VK stream key

Menu names can change, so treat this as the general shape: open the Studio section of your VK Video Live channel, go to its broadcasts tab, and copy the server URL and stream key. VK offers one-time and permanent keys. For a 24/7 channel, a permanent key saves you from updating StreamHouse for every broadcast. Check VK's current help page if you can't find the setting.

What works as a round-the-clock VK stream

  • Music and ambient channels built from tracks you have the rights to.
  • Replays of gaming sessions and past broadcasts for viewers in other time zones.
  • Community channels cycling through tutorials, interviews or show episodes.
  • A back catalog of your own videos, refreshed by editing the playlist.

Stream content you own or have licensed, and follow VK's community rules for live broadcasts.

How to set it up with StreamHouse

  1. 01Upload your videos to your StreamHouse media library. Each one is prepared ahead of time to one consistent encode profile, which keeps bitrate and timestamps steady.
  2. 02Build a playlist. It loops automatically.
  3. 03Add VK Video Live as a destination with your server URL and stream key.
  4. 04Start the stream or schedule it, then change the playlist while live; changes apply on the next video.

Monetization on VK Video Live

VK announced that from September 2026 its partner program for VK Video Live requires 1,000 subscribers and 500 watch hours over 90 days. Check VK's current terms, since programs like this change often. StreamHouse doesn't grant eligibility or guarantee earnings, but a consistent schedule of streamed hours is what these programs measure.

Why run it from the cloud

  • No computer, OBS or capture hardware running at home.
  • Automatic reconnects if VK or the network has a hiccup.
  • The same stream can also go to YouTube or Twitch.

Requirements summarise each platform’s help pages at the time of writing. Check the platform’s own page before an important broadcast.
