StreamHouse for Mixcloud
Stream Your Live DJ Sets to Mixcloud Live and Beyond
Mixcloud is built for DJs and radio shows, and Mixcloud Live puts your live sets in front of people who come there for mixes. StreamHouse takes one feed from your OBS or streaming setup and sends it to Mixcloud Live and other platforms at the same time from the cloud, so your home connection only uploads one stream.

What you need: Mixcloud Pro
Going live on Mixcloud requires a Mixcloud Pro subscription. Pricing varies by region and billing period, so check Mixcloud's Pro page. Once you have Pro, choose Create and then Go Live, set a name and visibility, and copy the server URL and stream key. Mixcloud's key is reusable, and your live page sits at your Mixcloud profile's live address.
Mixcloud's rules for live content
Mixcloud's live FAQ asks creators to avoid pre-recorded shows and strictly prohibits rebroadcasting video you don't own, such as sports, music videos, films or TV. Mixcloud Live is meant for sets you are performing in real time. For that reason, this page covers relaying a live set, not looping recorded mixes on Mixcloud.
If you also want an always-on channel of recorded mixes, run it on a platform that accepts that format, and check the music-rights situation there first.
How to go live on Mixcloud with StreamHouse
- 01In StreamHouse, add Mixcloud Live as a destination using the server URL and stream key from Mixcloud.
- 02Add any other destinations you want, such as YouTube or Twitch, each with its own key.
- 03Point OBS or your streaming software at StreamHouse instead of at each platform.
- 04Start your set. StreamHouse forwards the same feed to every destination.
Mixcloud refreshes long streams every 8 hours
Mixcloud doesn't set a length limit on live streams, but it refreshes the connection about every 8 hours, and its FAQ recommends an encoder that reconnects automatically. StreamHouse reconnects on its own when that happens, so a long set keeps going on Mixcloud without you restarting anything.
Settings Mixcloud recommends
At the time of writing, Mixcloud Live takes RTMP, with video at 720p and 30 fps around 2,500 to 3,000 kbps constant bitrate, a 2-second keyframe interval, and high-quality audio up to 320 kbps. Set these in your encoder before you go live.
Music rights when you multistream
Mixcloud's licensing model is a big reason DJs use it. Other platforms handle music differently, and a set that is fine on Mixcloud can be muted or blocked elsewhere. Check each platform's music policy before you add it as a destination.
